The material grade i.e., ASTM A182 SS F317L is Stainless Steel that contains elements like chromium, nickel, molybdenum, carbon, etc. in it. The molybdenum content allows the material to offers better corrosion resistance and enhanced resistance to chemical attack for sulfurous, acetic, formic, citric, and tartaric acids. The ‘L’ in the grade name stands for low carbon content, which results in resistance to sensitization during welding and higher creep, stress to rupture, and tensile strength at higher temperatures. This grade is non-magnetic initially in the annealed condition but may but excellently develop some magnetic properties after welding.
